As part of PENN Entertainments transformation into a modern omnichannel entertainment and gaming company, they sought to extend their new corporate brand to the customer experience with a reimagined loyalty program, PENN Play.

for the PENN Play, “Well Played” campaign, inclusive of a brand 

 (sonic logo) that enables flexibility for 

 across each of the 4 campaign spots. Create 4 versions of the core anthem that are tailored towards the personality and context of each spot, while maintaining a cohesive sonic branding experience to aid in brand recall.

Translate the core brand defining attributes of playful, sophisticated and approachable into a musical score. Utilize found sounds associated with the brand experience that aid in brand recognition and client ownability. Extract the strongest brand defining musical assets from the main score to create the PENN Play sonic logo. Execute a multi-genre creative versioning process for each of the 4 campaign spots, to allow for a tailored experience within each of the client personas. Maintain a cohesive sonic identity across the versioning through melodic consistency and the use of sonic assets specifically crafted for PENN’s brand attributes.

PENN Play’s launch and first month has exceeded historical performance. It has also impressed customers, boosting organic followers on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. It’s driven new registrations and is increasing downloads of the app. And it’s given PENN Entertainment the connective tissue needed to strengthen the corporate brand and portfolio as it continues to build capabilities and acquire new offerings and customers.

The campaign won Gold at the 2024 MUSE Creative Awards in the Sonic Branding category, a Silver at the 2023 W3 Awards in the Integrated Campaigns category, as well as Silver for the 2024 Reggie Awards in the Customer Engagement Marketing (CRM, Loyalty, Retention) category.

 for their 50th anniversary, that would capture the essence of Disney and call everyone to the most amazing experience they had put on in 50 years. The anthem needed to be delivered in an expressive way that would tug on the heartstrings of families and friends, and transform them to a place filled with hope, optimism and endless celebration. This sonic identity would become a part of everything associated with the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary experience: scored to parades, fireworks displays, and utilized through all communications.

Translate the core brand defining attributes of magic, wonder and excitement into a musical score that enables for flexibility in versioning across various contexts. The final execution of the winning anthem included a modern pop driven production palette, layered with a 45-piece orchestra and full choir. The orchestra and choir recording sessions were held in Nashville’s iconic Ocean Way Studios and The Sound Kitchen. The final version of the anthem was released through a strategic 

was in use across all broadcast, social media, as well as multiple iterations across all 4 parks from October 2021 until Fall of 2023. In 2022 Disney saw a 22.7% increase in year over year revenue. Park attendance also began to skyrocket, pulling them out of their COVID decline. The song is currently available on all music platforms and has 2M + streams.

 H&R Block needed to connect with Gen Z in a way that was engaging, unexpected, and—most importantly—effective in driving awareness and action. The solution? "Lit Island"—a reality TV-inspired branded entertainment campaign where unsuspecting contestants thought they were headed to an epic party, only to find themselves on "ResponsibiLITy Island." The only way off? Learning how to file their taxes.

 As the strategic music partner and music supervision team for the campaign, JB Music Group played a critical role in shaping the sonic experience of "Responsibility Island." We provided 20+ of our own catalog tracks, carefully curated and licensed for use in the ads, trailer, social content, website, and mini-series. Our goal was to enhance the high-energy experience to support the storytelling and drive emotional engagement.

 A strong creative vision from our partners at Piro brought "Responsibility Island" to life through compelling storytelling and dynamic engagement. JB Music Groups music supervision and diverse catalog ensured the selection of tracks elevated the experience, enhanced key moments, and deeply resonated with Gen Z audiences.

How Expert Music Supervision Brought "Lit Island" to Life for Gen Z

Morgan Stanley wanted to show off their wealth management capabilities in a way that was both informative and entertaining, so they set out to create an 

 event that used storytelling to explain the complex financial concepts and show how Morgan Stanley and its clients grow together. The goal was to create an environment that evokes a sense of comfort, symbolizes growth, intrigues the listener, and provides a light, soothing and free atmosphere for their U.S. Financials Conference.

JBMG was brought in to craft an immersive sonic experience for the event, blending three key elements to enhance the art installation:

 – Representing digital products with modern, innovative sound design.

 – Infusing warmth and trust through emotionally resonant instrumentation.

 – Lush, organic textures from nature—plants, rainforests, and rich vegetation—to evoke a sense of prosperity and abundance.

Additionally, JBMG licensed multiple catalog tracks and composed custom music to score all long-form digital content for Morgan Stanley’s 

, ensuring a cohesive and emotionally engaging soundscape. The videos were showcased at the conference and continue to live on the client's website.

The immersive conference debuted in June 2022 in NYC, earning high praise from press and industry attendees. Its success fueled further expansion throughout 2023, taking the conference on the road. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management 

 continues to feature five original JBMG compositions on its website.

Butterfinger needed to revitalize its brand presence in pop culture as it faced double-digit sales declines. To turn things around, the brand launched an ambitious campaign introducing the 

—an elite (and delightfully over-the-top) unit dedicated to preventing Butterfinger theft. The concept played on the tagline 

“Nobody lays a finger on my Butterfinger”

 by positioning the candy bar as so irresistible that it needed its own investigative team.

But for this campaign to truly resonate and become an enduring part of Butterfinger’s identity, the sound had to be just as distinct as the visuals. The right sonic branding would enhance recognition, elevate storytelling, and ensure that the campaign’s playful mystery remained memorable across all media touchpoints.

To bring the Butterfinger Investigators to life sonically, 

 that reinforced the campaign’s signature blend of mystery, humor, and intrigue.

We began by defining the brand’s sonic identity around three key characteristics:

 – To heighten the investigative, suspenseful nature of BFI

 – To reflect Butterfinger’s fun, quirky personality

 – To lean into the exaggerated, theatrical detective theme

With these traits as our foundation, we crafted a custom sonic logo (mnemonic) in both long-form and short-form variations, ensuring it’s adaptability for every touchpoint and piece of media.

Additionally, we composed and scored custom 

 that perfectly captured the tongue-in-cheek, crime-solving atmosphere of BFI. The winning blend of elements included:

—think dramatic guitar licks, plucky strings, and sneaky walking bass lines


 like exaggerated pops, zaps, and wacky noises


Dramatic pauses and over-the-top sound stings

 with mysterious chimes and playful flourishes

 that not only reinforced the BFI brand but also became an unmistakable audio cue for Butterfinger itself.

 campaign has been running for over four years, spanning TV commercials, long-form webisodes, social media content, retail and in-store activations, brand partnerships, promotions, and even a call center “tips line” for reporting stolen Butterfingers. The impact was immediate—

 in just one quarter, BFI drove double-digit growth

, with continued success quarter over quarter.

Beyond sales, our sonic branding elements became a long-term asset for Butterfinger. The

 now continues to serve as a powerful and consistent representation of the brand.

Troubled by the growing incivility and xenophobia in the US during 2020, King Arthur Baking Co. wanted to create their first branding and first national ad campaign that celebrated diversity, and diverse baking traditions. The goal was to reflect their mission of fostering community through baking. The music needed to be the hero for this spot, creating a branded experience that connected with people beyond the boundaries of traditional music in advertising.

Create a full-length song that feels like an existing classic, evoking a sense of familiarity without being recognizable. This iconic sounding song would serve as the 

 and be released as a single through a strategic 

. Having the song released alongside the campaign allowed for a stronger connection with consumers, and created the appearance of an existing song whose meaning had been hijacked and repurposed to fit the ad.

The 2+ year campaign included TVC’s, social content, and an artist partnership release with Ashley Nguyen DeWitt. The campaign was featured in Adweek, Best Ads On TV, Ads Of The World and more. The song received such favorable feedback its usage was extended from original term length.
